Nutrix is a full-featured calorie and macronutrient tracking application designed to provide a fast, accurate, and free alternative to existing nutrition trackers. The app is built with Next.js (App Router), React, and TypeScript, and uses Firebase Auth and Firestore for authentication and secure, user-scoped data storage. It integrates with the USDA FoodData Central API, enabling precise ingredient search and automated nutrient calculations for both single ingredients and complex recipes. Users can create profiles, build recipes, log meals, and track daily and weekly nutrition metrics through a clean and responsive interface. The dashboard offers calorie progress, macro distribution, and 7-day trends using Chart.js. Nutrix is statically exported and deployed on Cloudflare Pages, ensuring high performance and minimal backend overhead. The project focuses on practical utility, reliable data, and a streamlined user experience—delivering a capable nutrition tracker without subscriptions or unnecessary complexity.
